MIPS: Multi-directional Impact Protection System
The MIPS system is integrated as a Low Friction Layer into the helmet construction. In between the shell and the liner. This low friction layer allows the helmet to slide relatively to the head when the impact on the head comes in from an angle. It is designed to add protection in helmets against rotational motion.
